About the Phoenix Centre

With the Phoenix Centre we want to create a centre of excellence – a think tank of bright creative young businesses for York St John University to champion. The objective is to support these entrepreneurs to produce robust, stable, and adaptable companies.

The Phoenix Centre is a serviced business premises, set within the vibrant city-centre campus of York St John University. We offer highly subsidised inclusive rental packages for 12 months to help kick start new innovative start ups. Our intake is from 1st September until 31st August.

Now in it’s third year, the Phoenix Business and Innovation Centre welcomes its new tenants on board. The Phoenix Centre serves as a springboard for new and emerging businesses under 12months old. Here they can benefit from business support and guidance, reduced and subsidised rent and access to university facilities such as research, internships and work placements.

Open Innovation

As part of its development the Phoenix will be offering collaboration services using an Open Innovation Platform. This service will provide an innovative conduit between those seeking solutions with those who can provide the answers. By leveraging the knowledge base of higher education and crowd sourcing this service will be able to provide rapid business development, helping to get straight to solutions and avoiding costly failures during the innovation stages.
